I am a busy mama. I feel like most days I don’t spend my day at home. Many days I feel like I’m living out of my car and purse. If I don’t have everything I need, I either need to make a huge detour to go back home or I need to stop by the store to get whatever I’ve forgotten.
These are 4 thing I think every mom needs in her purse:
1. A snack.
Snacks are what get me through the day. My favorite snacks always include some sort of cracker or bread-based snack. They’re less messy and tend to not melt when it’s really hot outside or freeze when it’s really cold outside.
My new obsession is the TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks that we found at Walmart in the cookie/cracker aisle. They come individually wrapped so they fit well into my purse. Plus they’re kid-loved and mom-approved as they are bear-shaped and fun to eat, made with quality ingredients such as milk, eggs, and chocolate with no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, and no artificial colors. Also, on 2/23/17, Teddy Grahams partnered with GoGo Squeeze for a demo and display at your local Walmart.
I end up spending a lot of time sitting around, waiting for kids to be done and I’ll be honest, there are days when I really hope no one talks to me because my introverted side has kicked in and I just can’t handle talking to anyone while I’m waiting with a lot of other moms for our children to finish. Enter: earbuds. Sometimes I listen to music or podcasts but my biggest secret about them is that sometimes I am not listening to a single thing. That’s right. Sometimes I just have them in to avoid having to talk to someone.
Headphones are also good for my other kids who are waiting for a sibling to finish class/practice/school. Every now and then they get to watch a movie while they’re waiting and I love when they wear their headphones so they can watch quietly while I read my book.
3. A good book.
I’m not much of a reader but every now and then I get the reading itch and I get engrossed with books and stories that take me somewhere else than what I’m living. It helps pass the time and gives me something else to look at than my phone.
I also carry around my journal. It’s hard for me to remember to write down all of the cute things the kids do and all of the things we accomplish but if my journal is with me while I’m waiting, I can take some time to write things down.
4. A few toys/games for the kids.
These are essential in a mother’s purse. Even the older kids need something to do every now and then and toys/games are the perfect way to keep them occupied and entertained and not asking me for my phone.
