Is it hard for you and your husband to spend alone time together? Are you missing those date nights you used to share before you had kids? Finding a babysitter can be difficult. It can be challenging to find someone you trust to leave your newborn or children with. However, date nights don’t have to take place outside the home. Today I am going to walk you through some stay-in-date night ideas that are perfect for the busy couple.
Do you and your husband need a serious break? Then why not plan a spa night. Take a relaxing bubble bath, do facials, designate your shower as a steam room, and even take turns working out the knots on each other’s backs. All you need are some bath bombs, lotions, essential oils, and cucumbers and you are set.
When your kids go to bed, your date night can begin! Take a night to watch several movies, that you both enjoy, together. Get the buttery popcorn, extra treats, and splurge on some pay-per-view. Or, don’t be afraid just to find the latest movie added to Netflix. Spend time cuddling together and laughing on the couch.
Do you both love to spend time in the kitchen? Then why not throw a cooking date night? Research a recipe you have both wanted to make and go for it. Buy the ingredients, set aside the time, and enjoy your food after it’s done. This is a great way to do something new together and be able to catch up on each other’s lives.
Video Game Night
Take some time to have fun competing against each other in the ultimate video game night. This is also a great way to prove to your husband that you are in fact, the best wife ever, just in case he forgot. Spend some time trash talking each other and having mindless fun. You may even be surprised by who ends up winning it all.
Now, this doesn’t mean you have to have a fancy three-course meal, but take time to have a special dinner. Make one of your favorite dishes, light the room with candles, and have fun rekindling your romance.
Now that winter is upon us, what is more fun than sitting around the fire on a snowy night. This also works if you have a fire pit outside or a fireplace inside your house. Roast smores, and have fun cuddling around a campfire together.
Nerf Gun War
Do you and your husband love all things athletic and competitive? Then try having a nerf gun war. Spend the night chasing each other around the house and getting pelted with soft darts. May the best spouse win.
Do A Craft
Now, this one may be more far-fetched for some couples. Not every man is comfortable or would want to have a craft night. But, why not spend some time doing a fun activity like a craft together? Some examples of different crafts you could try are: painting mugs, making Christmas ornaments, painting a canvas, and even just attempting a craft your child has been working on. Pinterest is full of great ideas if you get stumped.
Take A Personality Test
Maybe you both don’t know your personality type. Take the test and compare your results. You’ll have so much fun reading different scenarios and how your specific personality type reacts in different situations. This is a great way to learn some things about yourselves that you haven’t discovered yet.
Play In The Snow
Make sure that you take your baby monitor with you to keep an eye on the kids. But, if you have that, put on some snow pants and act like kids again. Go sled riding, build a snowman, and make snow angels. Afterwards, snuggle up together as you drink a cup of hot chocolate.
As you can see, the sky is the limit when thinking of fun stay-at-home date night ideas. Pick one or several from this list, and get started today!
