I’ve decided that there are definitely 10 states I’ll never visit. It’s not that I don’t like to travel, because I do, but in all reality, it’s highly unlikely that I’ll ever make it to any of these states.
- West Virginia
- South Carolina
- New Mexico
- New Hampshire
I live on the Western side of the United States so states like California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona are no brainers because one, I’ve already been to all of them, and two, we have family or friends in those states or we have to drive through those states to get to other states so they simply can’t go on my “I’ll Never Visit” list.
Texas is a state I’ve always been curious about. First of all, it’s huge. But second, I’ve heard really good things about it. My husband and I were seriously considering moving there without having ever been there previously but somehow we never made it there, even when we had family who lived there for a couple of years.
Colorado almost made my list because I don’t see one single thing that would draw me there but the moment I made it official and put it on my list, we’d probably drive through or to it for some odd reason because it’s just too close to where I live.
The only states I’ve actually been to other than the ones I listed above are Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and I drove a few miles away from JFK Airport in New York (but that doesn’t mean I don’t have plans to visit one day!).
The states I didn’t mention and haven’t been to? We have plans to visit or it’s just too likely we’ll go there some day because of family or because I’m curious. Florida is definitely our next new-state vacation but that isn’t going to stop me from vying to go to the East Coast. It seems like the lifestyle and the feel of those states would fit me perfectly but I guess I’ll never know unless I go there one day.
Which states will you never visit?
