As a mom, I’m always on the lookout for snacks. To be honest, I’m surprised at how often my children want to eat. It’s like they feel like I do not feed them enough. I would obviously like to beg to differ but because they seem to always be hungry, I am always on the lookout for healthier snacks that taste good, too.
Recently we planned a movie night. It was a much-needed time out after the week before we had spent being really busy and out of town. I wanted this to be a unique movie night with a theme. Typically I’m the mom that doesn’t decorate for much but I was really excited to go all out and do something a little out of the ordinary.
My family enjoys Star Wars. While my husband has seen all of the movies, the kids and I have only experienced a few of the movies but we are still huge fans. So I went out to my local store and bought a few things for decoration. The cashier was really excited for me and my son because she thought we were throwing a birthday party! But no. We were throwing a super awesome just-because party.
Next I needed some food. I am one of those moms that typically encourages her family to eat healthy. I enjoy feeding my family foods that are better for them and low in sugar, especially because I know that they are getting plenty of sugar from other places. When I went to my local Smith’s grocery store, I found these Popchips Star Wars Galaxy Puffs. These turned out to be perfect for a snack for our movie.
The Popchips Star Wars Galaxy Puffs are never fried, non-gmo, and gluten free. It is a good alternative for a mom like me because they are great-tasting and a better-for-you alternative. Plus the kids love them because they are fun-to-eat shapes with some of their favorite Star Wars characters. Popchips Star Wars Galaxy Puffs can be found at a variety of stores including Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel, Shaws, Kroger, Ralph’s, Smith’s, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers/City Market, QFC, Roundy’s, Ahold, Wakefern, Raley’s, and more. I found them at my local Smith’s in the chips aisle.
When it came time for the movie, I had hung the colorful Star Wars posters I had found, set up a table with all of the decor and snacks, we grabbed our favorite blankets and spent a couple of hours taking a break from the craziness of life and enjoyed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
I love these moments with the family. I love spending time with them and relaxing. I also love putting together parties like these for no reason, just to show the kids I care and love them.
What do you do with your kids when you need a break? What are your family’s favorite snacks. Have you tried Popchips Star Wars Galaxy Puffs?
