Exercise is one of the most important parts of my day. Normally I get up extra early to make sure I get all of my work done, as well as my exercise, but once I start working I have a hard time stopping so the kids end up getting up and then I work out. Involving them is a great way to spend some time together, as well as teach them the importance of taking care of their body starting now.
Another key to my working out is exercising at home. Although gym passes are great, I’ve got to find somewhere for my kids to go while I exercise during the day and the gym’s daycare isn’t always where I want to send my kids. Exercising at home allows me to cut down the time it takes to get to the gym plus for those days I feel a little uncomfortable in my clothes, I don’t have to worry about it when I’m at home.
I use videos like the ones from Grokker. You get many, many videos and options for exercises including yoga, kickboxing, and other necessities to my workout. With Grokker, you can try it out for free or you can try out unlimited videos for 30 days for only $1!
Using a device like a Fitbit also helps me stay on target with my exercise goals. I personally love the Fitbit Charge HR. It has a heart rate monitor, exercise tracking, caller ID, works as a watch, tracks workouts, and monitors sleep.
Below I demonstrate a normal day at my house. Sometimes these happen because I’m actually exercising and other times they happen simply because I need to get the kids’ energy out.
Some exercises are not meant for little kids but these are 3 simple exercises that my daughter is learning to do and can join in with me as I exercise.
