My daughter and I both have vests. I love mine and shamelessly wear vests multiple times a week. They keep my core warm and I can wear almost any shirt with vests without worrying about what the shirt actually looks like on me. The vest can magically pull my outfit together without much work.
Well, I was visiting our mall down the street a couple weeks ago and found this green vest for my son and he absolutely loved it because then he could be like his sister and mama but having him wear it is a totally different thing. He doesn’t like how puffy it is and I totally get it. But for Christmas Day, I thought it would be perfect. So I somehow talked him into wearing it for me for Christmas and it stayed on for three whole hours before he wasn’t willing to wear it anymore.
I’ve been able to get him to wear it one other time since then but it came off as soon as we got home and now that I think of it, I haven’t seen it since. Maybe later I’ll wander into his room and see if it’s under his bed, hiding. There’s a good chance I’ll find it there.
To me, there’s nothing cuter this season than a little boy in a vest. I love the green, too, because it goes with almost all of his other clothes as he doesn’t own one other green thing in his closet, except maybe a little green on one of his socks, but I hardly think that counts. I also love it because he doesn’t enjoy wearing coats very often and recently it’s been as low as 3 degrees Fahrenheit which is way too cold for no coat so at least with the vest, he has a little added warmth.
And let’s just ignore the fact that his shirt is too small. He just went through a growth spurt. Two weeks ago this shirt fit him. He ate and ate and ate and look at him. Suddenly he grew and his pants and shirts no longer fit him. Luckily we live close to malls and we hit those pretty hard this last week so he could look like he has clothes that fit him again.
