For whatever reason, I have this thing with putting my children in white clothes. I buy them knowing that they will get stains from pens, markers, crayons, paints, and other sources I can never figure out and they will definitely get dirty from playing outside at recess or in our yard or at the playground. But the amount of white clothes my daughter owns is a little startling. What was not startling, however, was when I found this adorable white deer shirt. She loves animals, especially on her clothes, and she pairs it with leggings (and flip flops despite our freezing cold temperatures right now) and I love it.
This girl has been a fashionista since birth. While pregnant with her I could sense her personality and it was strong and overwhelming. I knew I was in for it way before she was actually born. I could sense her urgency and independence. Even when her due date came and went, all I could do was roll my eyes because I already knew that life runs on her time. Now that she’s older, life is just as I thought it might be for her despite how much I’ve tried to change her.
This girl has this personality where she will only wear the clothes she really likes, which is a good thing. But when others buy her clothes and they sit in her closet until she’s grown out of them, it drives me a little crazy. The older she gets, the more willing she is to wear the clothes she doesn’t like at least once to make me happy but she knows what she wants and she wears what she wants. Shopping with her can be one of the most painful things I do all week as she walks through store after store, somehow only liking some of the most expensive clothing and not liking most of the things I point out. I don’t think I have too old of a fashion sense yet but according to my daughter, I just don’t pick out the right clothing. I’d like to disagree.
