Girls nights are a necessity for me. I have many friends who never seem to need a girls night or to get out of the house, or maybe they do not do it often enough to realize the importance, but for me, I can tell when it’s been over two weeks since the last girls night because I start spiraling downward into this despair that I may never be a normal human being again. Being a stay-at-home, part-time working mom at times can make me forget that I have a life outside of being yelled at, tugged on, and woken up from my sleep by the sound of screaming children. Not that it is always like that but it is usually easier to remember the pain and so it is nice to have a break from everything every now and then and just spend some time with some friends.
If you have never heard of Kneaders before, it is basically a sandwich, salad, and soup restaurant. They have more baked goods and breads than actual menu items but it’s a go-to place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You walk in, order, and then sit down and wait for them to bring out your food. Kneaders Chunky Cinnamon Bread is one of the most popular breads and their unlimited French toast breakfast with the bread is one of the most talked about breakfasts among women who love Kneaders. The Chunky Cinnamon Bread is sweet and topped with Kneaders’ cinnamon syrup, whipped cream, and strawberries, it is a delicious breakfast.
Last weekend, the girls and I decided to go for a girls night to Kneaders. We went just before 8 pm on a Saturday which was the perfect time because on Saturdays at 8 pm, all of Kneaders’ sweet breads and sweets go on sale. I only meant to buy one treat for my husband but when you’re about fourth in line and can choose any sweet treat for half off, well, it is hard to control what to buy. I ended up with the Chunky Cinnamon Bread, a fruit tart, an eclair, bread pudding, and two cookies.
Then next morning, as I was making our Cinnamon French Toast recipe, I knew that all of my girlfriends were making the exact same thing and it made me really happy to think we were all enjoying a sugary breakfast right before we were all about to head to church for three hours and hope our children were capable of sitting through three hours after that sugary, delicious breakfast.
