Recently we spent some time at the Marriott Mountainside Resort. We were looking for an escape in the mountains with a laid back feel and to spend time as a family. We booked the 1 bedroom villa which included a full kitchen, washer and dryer, fireplace, and a large deep separate bathtub. There was also a sofa sleeper that had an incredibly firm, good mattress which I was really impressed with.
The location in Park City was fantastic. Surrounding the area, there were shops, restaurants, and family-friendly activities with the Alpine Slide and Coaster. Often times you can find a deal for the activities at the Olympic Oval.
We had planned to spend 3 days 2 nights at the Marriott Mountainside. We didn’t have much else planned to do in Park City other than perhaps try some of the local cuisine.
The first night we arrived, I got food poisoning and it was so bad that it had the potential to ruin the rest of our stay. Luckily Marriott Mountainside had our entire stay covered.
Each day the staff has prepared activities for the children and guests. There were competitions, games, and each day there was some sort of craft the children could participate in. We were there for candy sushi making and making play dough. The kids had a great time learning something that I probably wouldn’t do with them at home.
Marriott Mountainside had two different play/game rooms. One was an arcade room. It had Foosball, table tennis, arcade games, and video games. The other room had computer games, building blocks, a huge Connect 4 game, and so many other games and toys.
Just outside of the play room called “The Mine” were a shuffleboard table and pool tables. There was also a lounge area where other games were played in this area.
This resort had a gorgeous exercise room and an outdoor pool area that also had 4 hot tubs and 1 hot tub for young children that had a warm temperature but not too hot. This area also had two large fire pits and 4 grills that guests could use to cook their food.
There was also a theater room that played movies all day. The first movie of the day was a family-friendly movie and the others varied as to what age range it was appropriate for. Nonetheless, it was a great way to watch a movie but not have to stay in the room.
With being so sick, I was afraid that my family would be bored having to hang around the hotel but they were entertained for two days straight and never even had to leave Marriott Mountainside. It was an incredible place to stay.
