Last week I talked a little bit about why I have insecurities and how I love my lips. This week I’d like to focus on my hair.
But first, let me tell you a little about #MyBeautyIs. I feel like so often we get so focused on the things we don’t like about ourselves. I watch the young girls around me who watch their moms talk about their weight, their double chin, and their other problem areas and these girls who are as young as 7 have also told me about their body that they don’t like.
Well, ladies, it’s time to change. Even if you don’t have children, these young girls are watching you, listening to you complain, and taking on these roles. Is this really where we want them to go as they head into their teenage years? For me, it is not.
So today I’d like to make mention of my hair. It is thick, grows quickly, and since moving out of my house, I’ve had a lot of pride in my hair. My mother cut my hair a few times and I’ll tell you right now, it was some of the most embarrassing hair cuts I’ve ever had. I mean, good for her for taking on that challenge, but as if I wasn’t already really unique, then you add in my crazy bowl hair cut … ah. Things were bad back in the day.
But now I love my girly hair. And to be honest, I’ve never even colored it at all because I love its color so much.
So tell me, what do you love about yourself? And make sure to hashtag it with #MyBeautyIs. I want to see your pictures and how much you love yourself!

Your hair is gorgeous! I usually love my hair. . . when it’s not frizzy 😉
I love my body, after 3 kids it still looks amazing. It’s not perfect but there is nothing to be ashamed of!
What a great campaign! We forget that our children are always listening and watching us. My best feature right now is my hair. However, I have to color mine because of the gray! You are so lucky girl! My best feature used to be my legs, but they are a little chunkier now! Love this campaign!
i think it’s time we all embrace “the good, the bad and the ugly” and just accept and love what we have and have been give. Sure not always an easy task, I’ll be the first to admit, but being more self aware and careful with our words because there’s always little eyes/ears watching/listening. 🙂
So true! I work really hard on being very careful what impression I give my daughter about my own self confidence. I know she is watching and I want her to love herself.
Your hair is beautiful!!!
I love my biceps. I love to be able to see a little bit of muscle when I flex. Makes me feel strong.
You look so pretty!! This is a great idea!! I love my nose and ears (weird, yes) but have always found them to be normal size and shape. I have always struggled with body issues and shaming but have tried in recent years to accept the body I have…not always easy. But dang, I have great ears!
