I live in an area where there are four seasons every year and almost every year, they are extreme. Springs are exactly what you would expect, warmer weather but it’s also mixed with really warm weather and really cool weather. Summers are dry and hot. Falls are chilly and windy intermingled with very warm days with leaves dropping all over the place. Then quickly Winter arrives bring freezing cold temperatures with snow and rain all season long.
Spring is my favorite season of the year and on those really good, warm days, I am always antsy to get outside and start grilling. We can go weeks without having any visitors over at our house in the cold Winter weeks and as soon as it gets warm, we will start inviting a few people over to enjoy barbecuing and grilling with us.
We also bought a little fire pit last year and love using it. We are excited to fix up our yard and get outside more and invite more people over. I am sure the yard work will be over the course of a few years as I want to add in cement into the backyard to add in a basketball hoop, huge cement slabs on the side of the house to hold our shed and to give the kids a good place to ride bikes and scooters, a trampoline built into the ground, a larger deck to put the grill and a table on, and to take out our small hill in the back of the yard and level it out to create more playing space for throwing the baseball and practicing soccer. See? Huge plans.
As for now, however, I guess we’ll enjoy what we have including our grill. Try this crazy simple and delicious skewer recipe to enjoy what we’re enjoying every week!
