Jambalaya is a relatively new food to me. About 4 years ago, a family member from Florida came to visit and made his recipe. It was incredibly spicy and full of flavor. I added some sour cream to it and my daughter who was only 1-year old at the time downed an entire bowl of it. I wasn’t far behind her with a few more bowls.
Once Fall hits, I’m constantly craving Jambalaya. With my hectic schedule though that starts around 3 pm each day, I don’t have much time to stand around the kitchen and make food. Hence, slow cooker Jambalaya.
This is one of my favorite recipes. The kids and I like to add in a dollop of sour cream onto the top and sometimes the kids add on some cheddar cheese and we all just love it. Every now and then we’ll serve it with some toasted French bread. There’s rarely ever leftovers!
