Target is my budget downfall. It gets me every single time. It doesn’t matter the reason why I’ve stopped by Target, I always end up in the clearance sections and I almost always walk out with something that has been marked down 50-70%.
For the past few months, probably about 4 months, I’ve eyed this pink dress on the clearance rack. At originally $79.99 it was out of my tight budget range. I only allow myself $50 fun money each month and I like to eat out for lunch every now and then so a dress that I don’t need has to be at a good price. I watched it go down to 30% off, then 50% off. When it hit 70% off, I was tempted but a $20+ dress that I didn’t need just wasn’t worth it.
Then one day when the clearance section was another 25% off with the Cartwheel app, I had to take a gander at the clearance options and found this pink dress for $9.46. From $79.99 ask the way down to $9.46, well, it just wasn’t something I could pass up. So feeling mostly guilt, I bought it with the thought that I could definitely take it back.
That night we were surprised to find out that my nieces and nephews would be living with us for an unknown amount of time and a couple hours before that news, I had randomly decided to potty train my 3 year old. A couple days later, my husband’s 5 siblings all came into town and stayed with us so at the end of the week, least to say, I was exhausted. I grabbed the dress out of the closet, tore off the tags, washed it, and wore it as a gift to myself for making it through the entire week.
