Jello Poke Cake

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Refrigerator: 3 hours
Total Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 16 people

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 box Jello / gelatin 3 oz box
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 container Cool Whip thawed
  • fresh fruit optional

  1. Cook cake according to box directions (usually water, oil, and eggs are needed). Let cake cool for 15 minutes.

  2. Combine Jello / gelatin mix with 1 cup boiling water. Choose your flavor - we used strawberry.

  3. Poke holes in cake with a fork or with the back of a wooden spoon. Make sure holes are all over cake.

  4. Pour Jello / gelatin mix mixture over the cake evenly.

  5. Spread Cool Whip on top of the cake. I personally like to use fresh whipped cream (heavy whipping cream and sugar) instead of Cool Whip. Garnish with fruit.

  6. Allow cake to refrigerate for 3 hours before serving to allow it to cool and set.
